What does "PPWR compliance" mean on this platform?

The PPWR is the EU packaging regulation. It requires manufacturers and distributors to hold certain information and evidence about their packaging — material, weight, recycled content and the accompanying documents. "Compliance" on this platform means: the supplier has entered that information and uploaded the evidence, and both are findable by their customers in the revision that is currently valid. What the platform does NOT do: it does not check the information for accuracy, does not assess it legally, and does not confirm that any packaging conforms to the PPWR. It makes what the supplier declared findable, versioned and traceable — responsibility for whether it is correct stays with the supplier.

Does the platform confirm that a packaging item is PPWR compliant?

No. The platform manages and displays data and documents provided by the respective manufacturer, distributor or other responsible economic operator. What you see is a supplier-declared status, not a legal assessment by the platform.

Does PackCert issue declarations of conformity or certificates?

Accepted Answer

No. We issue no certificate and certify nothing. Regulation (EU) 2025/40 provides that the economic operator — the manufacturer, importer or whoever places packaging on the market under their own name — draws up the declaration of conformity themselves. A drafting aid for this sits on the platform: it puts your own details into the shape of that document, which you then sign and keep yourself. Your details are not checked for correctness, and no legal advice is given.

Can I create a declaration of conformity directly on the platform?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You draw up the EU declaration of conformity under Art. 39 PPWR in a guided form right on the platform: your stored company details are prefilled, you enter the packaging details, and you download the result as a PDF. As the law provides, you make the declaration as the manufacturer under your sole responsibility. The platform does not check your details and does not assess the packaging legally.

What do the compliance documents cost?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. Every published compliance document is free to download and there is no limit — no account needed, no daily cap. The platform is paid for by manufacturers and distributors.

Question 6

What happens when a manufacturer updates a document?

Accepted Answer

A new version is created. The previous revision is fully preserved and stays traceable. Customers who downloaded the document or watch the item are notified automatically.

Question 7

Do I keep access to documents I downloaded?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every download is recorded in your company document archive, including the revision you received. If the manufacturer later publishes a new version, you see it there straight away.

How are the documents protected?

Accepted Answer

Documents live in private storage and are not reachable through a public URL. Every download passes a server-side permission check, receives a short-lived signed link, and is recorded in the audit log.

Can I create several users for my company?

Accepted Answer

For now, each registration creates a single user, and the document archive belongs to the company rather than to the individual. Full team management is planned for a later stage.
